![]() ![]() A better quest marker system would be nice too. Why aren't collectibles highlighted in the world when they look the exact same as everything else? (yes I know scientist can upgrade the scanner to find collectibles, but that shouldn't be the only way) why is the only indicator of a ship being friendly/hostile a little colored strip? Maybe display the advanced info the scientist can get to everyone in a drop down box or something? If you flesh out the FPS mechanics, you should create more opportunities to enjoy it.Īlso maybe add more random stuff for the crew to do while the captain is upgrading the ship or docked? shooting simulations, or something to keep their short-attention spans occupied outside of liar's dice. Keep the assets you have that are necessary for the planet's questline, but just add more. Possibly create tile-sets for randomly generating planets? (bandit camps, wreckage, minerals, caves ect ect). Here's my outside perspective on what could be changed: I don't claim to be a game developer, but I feel that these changes should be possible. If they could revamp the FPS mechanics, and make traversing planets not a waste of time, this game would be closer to perfection. The premise is amazing, and the world-building is crafted with love, however, the game still feels unfinished. Overall, I really have a soft spot for this game. So if you're playing on a harder difficulty and trying to maximize your combat score, this is what your crew can do in the meantime:ģ.Jetpack around in circles (If there's a station)Ĥ.talk to the NPCs with one line of dialogue. I know this is more of a conceptual flaw, but when you're buying/swaping/selling ship components, the rest of your crew has NOTHING to do. Why would I want to Run/Jetpack for 3 minutes to get to the fetch quest objective just to run back for another 3 minutes straight? Add ground vehicles please. Planets are "open world" in the sense of a huge, empty map with 2 points of interest. If you want this game primarily for the first person combat, you'll be disappointed. UI (health bars, interactions, inventory) is rough. +Constant updates and bug fixes (This game was released in 2013!!!) +You can literally just take someone else's ship if you want +Plenty of weapons and class specific perks makes leveling up feel useful. +Planetary Explorations and science skill tree make exploring rewarding +Numerous quest lines and factions, each of which has their own final mission that really shines. +AI crewmates fill in decently well if you don't have a full 5 man party. +Ship to Ship combat is immersive and fun ![]() Other than that, the execution is a bit lacking The game itself has an amazing premise, with plenty of customization options, side quests, factions, and play styles available to your crew. VR mode (with motion controller support).Board enemy ships to capture them or destroy their systems.Loot planets and stations for valuable items.Teleport to other ships, planets or stations to join the away team.Fast-paced and tactical ship-to-ship space combat.Five unique classes everyone plays a role on the ship.Customizable AI crew bots in online and offline mode.Online co-op multiplayer (1 - 5 players).Trek across the galaxy, and discover what lies on its fringes. Teleport down to the surfaces of planets where you may face extreme environments and dangerous creatures. The strategies you use are up to you-or your Captain.Įmbark on missions, investigate abandoned stations, and scavenge for components that could aid you in your voyage. Reroute power between ship systems, operate turrets, run powerful programs, scan enemy vessels for information to give you an edge in battle, or start up the warp drive to escape a fight you cannot win. Coordination between your crewmembers is essential to survive the perils that await you.Ĭontrol the various stations that run your ship. Each player assumes a role aboard the ship: Captain, Pilot, Scientist, Weapons Specialist and Engineer. Team up to operate a starship and explore a randomized galaxy falling into chaos.
